Riverhead, New York - The Adelphi golf team competed in the second and final round of the Dowling College September Shootout in Riverhead, New York on Monday, September 15. The Panthers shot 595 as a team, which was good enough for a first place finish and placed ahead of Post University (611) and St. Thomas Aquinas College (617). Adelphi was lead by senior Brant Kummerfeld and sophomore Matt Demeo who both placed in the top four in the individual standings. Kummerfeld, who finished the first round in third with a 71, shot 75 for the second round to put him in a tie for the lead with Kent St. Charles of Pace University with 146. Demeo, who had a two stroke lead after the first round, shot 79 in the second round to place him tied for third with Jamie Blake of Post University with scores of 147. Adelphi will return to competition on September 21, when the Long Island National Golf Links will host the ECAC Divsion II Championship in Riverhead, New York. |
