Suffern, N.Y. - The Adelphi University golf team traveled to Suffern, New York on October 12 to compete in the Dominican Charger Challenge. The tournament is taking place at Spook Rock Golf Course, which plays just over 6,200 yards in length an carries a par score of 72. Adelphi's Brant Kummerfeld was the lone golfer to achieve a score of par and currently sits alone in first place. The Panthers are also in first place as a team with a score of 300, six strokes better then St. Thomas Aquinas and 11 in front of third place American International College. Goldey-Beacom (312) and Dowling College (315) round out the top-five. In addition to Kummerfeld in first, Adelphi's Stuart Pulkinen is in a tie for fourth with a day one total of 74, while Matt Demeo is tied for ninth with a rond one score of 76. Oliver Hudesman and Joshua Hamlett complete Adelphi's top-five as both golfers shot six over par scores of 78. Adelphi closes out the tournament on October 13, hoping to capture their fourth first place finish of the season. |
