Suffern, N.Y. - The Adelphi University golf team is in third place after day one of the 11-team Dominican College Charger Classic at the Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York. The Panthers (312) were led by junior Brant Kummerfeld, who shot a three-over par round of 75 and is in a tie for third place in the 54-player field. Host Dominican (302) is in first place, followed by St. Thomas Aquinas (310) and Adelphi. Pace (313) and Dowling (313) are tied for fourth and Goldey-Beacom (317) and Post (317) are tied for sixth. AJ Lee (72) of Dominican leads the field, followed by Dan Brown (74) of Dowling, the Panthers' Kummerfeld and Brian Kivlehan (75) of Dominican are tied for third. Adelphi freshman Matt Demeo (78) and seniors Mauricio Saavedra (79) and Jantzen Vargas (80) rounded out the first-round scoring for the Panthers. Junior Oliver Hudesman added an 81. The Panthers return to action on Monday, October 15, at the Dominican College Charger Classic at the Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York. |
