George Taylor III is beginning his first season with the Adelphi University swimming and diving team. Taylor will act as the team's diving coach.

Taylor has been the diving coach for Long Island Divers since its inception in 1990. Presently, Taylor has coached over 20 National Qualifiers in both United States Diving and AAU Diving, high school, and college and has coached over 15 All-Americans.

A resident of Hempstead, New York, Taylor attended the University of Maryland, and then graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in Computer Science. There, Taylor was a two-time Collegiate Karate Champion and is currently a two-time United States Champion in two weight classes.

He also ran on the collegiate track team, was on the Fencing team, and the Swimming and Diving Team, while at William Paterson. Taylor is a three-time Division III National Qualifier and two-time Collegiate State Champion and still holds three collegiate records.

Taylor started his coaching career at Chaminade High School in 1990 and stayed on until 1995 when he became the diving coach at St. John's University, a position he held until 2005. While at St. John's, he coached the Queens College women's diving team as well, giving them their first National Qualifier and All-American on both boards in the school's history.

He also started and organized the swimming program at York College and competed at the Empire State Game in 2006 on both the 1 meter and 3 meter springboards. Taylor is currently a four-time Empire State Games medallist, and has also coached over eight Empire State Games Champions.

Since joining United States Diving Taylor has won four United States Masters National Synchronized Diving Championships, and was the Bronze medallist in 1993. Currently he is the SNYDA Junior Olympic (JO) Chairperson for United States Diving and an AAU Metropolitan Diving Chairperson representative.

Taylor joined the United States Marine Corps in 1997 and presently helps and tutors new recruits. He also works with Youth Agencies and Senior Citizens as a Computer Systems Programmer /Programmer Analyst.

In addition to coaching Long Island Divers, George coaches the Garden City High School, Long Beach High School, and Wantagh High School diving teams.
