Davies had two top-four finishes in the Panthers' effort

South Orange, NJ - Swimming traveled down to Seton Hall University for a duel meet against the Pirates and the Montclair State University Red Hawks. Both teams proved to be too much for the Panthers' squad as the men lost against Seton Hall 63-28 and Montclair State 62-31, while the women sunk to the Pirates 78-17 and the Red Hawks 78-17. Despite the tough Division I and III competition, Adelphi place 10 swimmers in the top three.

The men opened their meet with a two/five effort by Zachary Terzano (10:20.36) and Daniel Sparnroft (11:18.19) respectfully in the 1000 free. Two events later, Tony Cozzi posted a strong finish in the 200 free, touching the wall in 1:51.58 for second. Corey McKee had two top-three finishes with a second place in the 100 fly (54.08) and a third in the 100 back (56.79). Terzano followed Mckee with a third place finish in the 500 free in 5:06.27. Brad Meaney closed the men's individual effort in the duel with a third place finish in the 100 breast in 1:09.26. The team of Cozzi, Terzano, Mckee and Michael Litvinoff posted a 1:32.84 in the 200 free relay for a second place finish.

On the women's side Charlotte Davies and Kelly Mark recorded a three and four finish respectfully in the 1000 free in the Panthers' first individual event. Laura Pashayan finished fourth in the 100 back in 1:10.18, with teammate Jennifer Scarnati was right behind her in 1:11.02 for fifth. Davies continued her attack against the Red Hawks and Pirates with a fourth place finish in the 500 free in 5:35.43. Jacquelyn Birkel capped the Panthers' effort with a third place, 1:17.08 finish in the 100 breast. The Brown and Gold's strongest finish came in the 200 free relay, when the team of Mark, Pashavan, Sarah Bove and Brittany Ferencik swam a 1:51.12 for second place.

The Panthers will return to action when they travel to Pleasentville, New York to compete against the Setters of Pace University on November 8. First start is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
