Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University posted the top men's grade point average (GPA) among all NCAA Division II schools for the Winter-Spring 2007 semester, while the University of Tampa posted the top women's GPA according to tabulations compiled by Sean Tedesco, chairman of the CSCAA's Academic All-American committee. In all, 28 women's teams and 17 men's teams earned Division II Academic All-American honors. Adelphi's mens swim team, coached by Linda Jelovich, topped the rankings with a 3.39 GPA, dropping Tampa (3.32) and the University of Findlay (3.26) to second and third. The women boasted a GPA of 3.128, placing them 27th, while the University of Tampa topped the list with a GPA of 3.5. Adelphi placed seventh (men) and eighth (women) overall in 2007 at the Metropolitan Swim Championships. |
