Cross-Country Places Seventh and 13th at Paul Short Run

Bethlehem, PA - The Adelphi University cross-country team traveled to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, October 3 to compete in the Paul Short Run on the campus of Lehigh University. The women placed seventh out of 37 competing schools, while the men took home 13th out of 41 teams.

For the third meet this season the women were led by Ify Anene, who placed 16th overall in a new personal best time, covering the 6K course in 22:27. Kristen Wojtuniak was the second Adelphi finisher across the, posting a time of 23:04 to place 33rd overall.

Danielle Matteo and Danielle Lyons cross the finish just 11 seconds apart as Matteo placed 52nd in 23:27 and Lyons captured 61st in a time of 23:38. Kristen Meyer and Kristin Eberhardt rounded out Adelphi's competitors, placing 86th (24:02) and 102nd (24:22).

Ryan Pezzulo and Angel Ortega paced the men's squad as they both finished in the top-16. Pezzulo placed 12th overall in a collegiate best time of 26:11, while Ortega was just six seconds off of his personal best, stopping the clock at 26:19, good enough for 16th overall.

Sean Harte, Aaron Warner and Tom Eickelberg rounded out Adelphi's top-five as all three runners finished within 16 seconds of each other. Harte placed 121st (28:13), while Warner was 132nd (28:23) and Eickelberg was 140th (28:29).

The Panthers return to action on October 18 when they travel to Albany, New York to compete in the Albany Invitational.
