Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University Cross Country and Track and Field teams announce their first annual Mini-Golf Outing fund raiser to be held on Saturday, October 11 at Eisenhower Park at 2:00 pm. All proceeds will go toward the spring training trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in March 2009. The trip is one week long and culminates with a meet at the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University.

The teams welcome family, friends, alumni and the entire Adelphi community to come out and share a fun day of mini-golf, food and drink, and a meet-and-greet with the team and coaching staff. Each person attending will receive a Panther Club drawstring bag, donated by the Panther Club, an AU XC/T&F wristband, a water bottle and two raffle tickets. Also, everyone is encouraged to buy additional raffle tickets as there are many prizes to be given away. Adelphi XC/Track gear as well as gifts generously donated by The Sayville Running Company located in Sayville, New York and The Runner's Stop located in Lynbrook, New York will be raffled off.

"We're looking for a really good turnout. So far, a lot of the kids have spread the word to parents and friends and we sent out letters to all track alumni, so it's looking to come together nicely" assistant coach Katie DiPietro said. "This is the first part of our fund raising efforts, and we're looking for it to be a big success!"
