Adelphi University senior Ify Anene and freshman Angel Ortega have been selected as the East Coast Conference (ECC) Runner of The Week and Rookie of the Week respectively as announced by the conference office on October 6. This is the third consecutive ECC selection for Anene and the second for Ortega.

Anene was just the third Division II runner across the line at the Paul Short Run on October 3. Her time of 22:27 was a personal best, placed her 16th overall and helped the Panthers to a seventh place team finish. Anene and her teammates remain ranked second in the region.

Ortega placed 16th overall at the Paul Short Run, helping Adelphi to a 13th place team finish. His time of 26:19 was just six seconds off of his collegiate personal best. Ortega and the men sit at the number four spot in the region.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, October 18 when they travel to Albany, NY to compete in the Albany Invitational.
