Nov. 8, 2006 Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University senior Jaime Julie-Perez (Amsterdam, N.Y.) became the first Panther harrier in over a decade to earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors as announced on Tuesday, November 7 by the national office. The All Region Team consists of the top 15 individual finishers in each of the eight regional meets held last weekend. Julia-Perez stopped the clock in a personal best time of 32:04 to 11th overall in the field of 128 finishers at the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional. Julia-Perez helped Adelphi to a fourth place finish out of 20 competing teams from all over the Northeast Region. Top ranked Adams State (North Central) led all teams with six runners earning all-region honors, followed by Lock Haven (East Region), Massachusetts-Lowell (Northeast), Harding (South) and Chico State (West) who each had five runners earn All Region designation. Adelphi will complete their 2006 season on Saturday, November 18 when they compete in the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York. 2006 All-NORTHEAST REGION |
