Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's soccer program and head coach Carlo Acquista will be holding a summer camp starting July 28 and running through August 1. The camp is broken up into a co-ed skills camp for players age 7-14 and an elite camp for boys age 15-18. The skills camp will run from 9am to 3pm daily and will focus on basic soccer skills, such as dribbling, passing, ball control and shooting. In addition all campers will be grouped by their age and ability level and will participate in small sided games, practice tactics and game tactics. The boys elite camp will run from 5pm to 7pm daily and will focus on advanced skill work within a college/professional environment. Each athlete who attends the elite camp will receive two dri-fit jerseys as part of the camp tuition. Coach Acquista will direct all aspects of the camp and has just completed his first season as head coach at Adelphi University. He has also coached at St. Francis (N.Y.), Hofstra University and St. John's in addition to holding a USSF "B" license. Camp co-directors are David Price and John Urbom. Price and Urbom have also completed their first season with the Adelphi University men's soccer program. Price has three Club National Championships to his coaching credit and competed nine years professionally while Urbom was an All-American and a three-time All-Region selection while at St. John's.
