Garden City, N.Y. - Junior Julie Schaper (Warwick, N.Y.) was recognized as the ECC Baden Player of the Week. This is the first player of the week nod for the pitcher/outfielder, who earned pitching honors last week.

Schaper starred both at the plate and on the mound, as she helped the Panthers to a 6-0 week and run their winning streak to 11 games overall and 13 games in ECC play.

She hit .429 on the week with seven RBI and eight runs scored with three doubles. On the mound she was 3-0 on the week with a 0.37 ERA, giving up just one run, while striking out 30 and walking only three. Schaper pitched a three-hit shutout versus Philadelphia University on Sunday.

Adelphi (28-8, 14-2 ECC) returns to action today, traveling to the University of Bridgeport for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
