Johnston Earns ECAC All-Star Honors

Garden City, N.Y. - Sophomore outfielder Samantha Johnston was named to the 2007 ECAC DII All-Star Team as announced today.

C.W. Post led all schools with four selections, while Taras Wallace of Dowling College took home Player of the Year honors and Saint Michael's Meggan Roberge was named Pitcher of the Year.

Johnston, who started in all 52 games for the Panthers, lead the team in at-bats (178), runs (38) and hits (71) and ranked second in hitting percentage (3.99). Earlier this season she was named a First-Team NFCA All-Region selection and a First-Team All-ECC pick.

The Panthers (39-13) finished the season with their best-ever Division II record, winning their first regular season conference title since 2000 and advancing to the NCAA Divison II Northeast Regional for the second time in as many years.
